Schwab Advisor Services IMPACT Conference

I have helped develop content and engagement strategies for multiple IMPACT conferences. In 2019, I collaborated with other creatives and Schwab staff to develop the booth experience for Schwab’s Independent Difference campaign, created materials for a Marketing Forum designed to help advisors think through their digital marketing challenges, and edited a white paper on firm ownership and succession.

Portland Government Research Launch and Media Campaign

In 2019, City Club made a big splash with its report on the failures of Portland’s form of government. I arranged TV and radio appearances; placed op-eds in the Oregonian, Portland Business Journal, and Portland Tribune; and developed the concept for a launch event that highlighted the need for change.

Charles Schwab Investment Management (CSIM)

Charles Schwab’s investment products—mutual funds and exchange-traded funds—were having trouble standing out in a crowded marketplace. I helped CSIM understand its competitive landscape, target its audience, create messages for that audience, and then develop ads and other materials to help it better take advantage of its market opportunities.

City Club Content Strategy

When I started at City Club, its communications practices and strategies had fallen apart. Within weeks, I implemented a content calendar, started a blog that examined complex civic issues, produced a podcast that reached beyond the stereotypical City Club audience, and created a monthly newsletter that helped City Club connect its wonky world to real people and what they care about.

More broadly, my challenge was to signal that City Club is no longer the stuffy, white-, male-centered institution it has been for more than a century. I made sure City Club owned up to its past and showed its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the present.
